Instructions for Downloading and Installing Distiller Settings
When a dialog box appears, save the file on your local disk.
- If your browser does not decompress the file automatically, find the file DistillerSettingsX.zip on your local disk and decompress it using a decompression program like Winzip or Stuffit Expander.
A file called Newspaper.joboptions will be created on your disk.
- Find the folder where Acrobat Distiller is installed.
- On a Windows system the most common installation folder is C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 5.0\Distillr.
- On a Macintosh, the program may be installed in Macintosh HD:Applications (OS 9):Acrobat 5.0:Distiller.
- In either case, the Acrobat folder may have a different number in the name, depending on the version of Acrobat that you have.
- Copy the Newspaper.joboptions file to the folder called Settings inside the folder where Distiller is installed.
- Start Distiller and choose Newspaper from the Job Options pop-up menu.
That's all it takes! The next time you run Distiller, the Job Options should still be set to Newspaper, but if not just choose Newspaper and create your PDF file.
