We are able to accept a PostScript file (.ps) or an EPS file created from your Microsoft Publisher document.
Before you begin
  • You must have already installed a PostScript printer driver and the appropriate PostScript printer description file. See your Publisher documentation if you need assistance on doing this.
  • All colors must be process colors (CMYK). To use process colors, choose Tools > Commercial Printing > Color Printing. In the Print All Colors As box, choose Process colors (CMYK). Click OK. Publisher will convert all colors in text, graphics, and other objects to CMYK values, and then create four plates, regardless of the color model originally used to create the colors.
  • All fonts used in your ad must be PostScript fonts. Refer to the Fontsarea of AdDesk about using PostScript Type 1 fonts.
Microsoft Publishers' Color Printing dialog box
Save your publication as a PostScript file
  • On the File menu, choose Save As.
  • Type a name for the file. You don't need to type a file name extension since Publisher automatically adds .ps to the end of the file name you type. In the Save As Type box, choose PostScript.
  • Click Save.
  • Publisher displays the Save as PostScript File dialog box. In the Name box, choose the PostScript printer or the output device you want.
  • In the Separations box, choose Print Composite.
Remember that you cannot view your PostScript file in Publisher — you can only print it on a PostScript printer. If you make changes to your publication, repeat this procedure to create another PostScript file.
Create an Encapsulated PostScript File (EPS) based on your publication
  • In the Name box, choose the PostScript printer you plan to use for the final output, and then click Properties.
  • Click the PostScript tab.
  • In the PostScript Output Format box, choose Encapsulated PostScript (EPS).
  • Click OK twice.
  • On the File menu, choose Print. In the Name box, verify that the correct PostScript printer is selected (the same printer you chose in step 1). Make sure the Print To File box is checked.
  • Choose Current Page. Verify that Print Composite is selected under Separations.
  • Click OK.
